Poor Milo, after months of struggling with various seizure medicines it seemed as if his epilepsy was under control - and then came another round of violent and severe cluster seizures. Milo's doctor has added yet a THIRD medicine to the mix and we are all hoping that this will be the trick to control his seizures and let him get on with this life. For now Milo is available for sponsorship only....
July 2012 Update - Great news - Milo's seizures are controlled with inexpensive daily meds. He's growing like a weed (he's a big boy now) and is ready willing and able to head off to his new forever home!!!
June 2012 Update -- Poor little Milo has been diagnosed with epilepsy. His foster family is working with Milo's vet to get his medication levels appropriate to prevent any more seizures. However, now that Milo has been diagnosed, any potential family needs to be aware that he will likely have to take inexpensive medication for the rest of his life. Please make sure to consider this before filling out an application to adopt Milo. Epilepsy is a common occurence in dogs and once the appropriate medication dosage has been found, most dogs remain seizure free.
UPDATE: Milo is doing great in his foster home! He's becoming a champ at crate and housetraining and playing happily with his boxer foster siblings. We've received several emails asking if Milo is a purebred boxer - the short answer is we cannot promise that. The shelter was told that he is, his mother was definitely a boxer, there was a male boxer in the home, and the "owner" claimed that the puppies were purebred boxers. If you are only interested in a "purebred" boxer puppy, please check out one of the many boxer rescues. However, if you are looking for a happy, bouncy, smart family companion with a sweet disposition, Milo might be the dog for you! It really doesn't matter if Milo is "pure" or not, because he is a WONDERFUL puppy and is going to make some family very happy!
Meet Milo!!!! He's a handsome boxer puppy who is looking for his forever home. Milo needs a home with boxer experience, a physically fenced yard and no other male doggies. Milo will be available to go to his new home after April 15th. If you are interested in adopting Milo, please complete an application on our website or for more information about Milo, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. WE WILL NOT WAIVE ANY OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS so please do not ask. Thank you.
