Description:
Ethel is a sweet old lady who has survived a nightmare and is now looking for a family to love her for her golden years. Ethel was a happy old girl (10yrs +) who lived with another little mixed breed dog, and a wonderful retired couple. Ethel was fat and spoiled and had a great life....then tragedy struck! Ethel, her canine companion and her Mom and Dad were in a terrible car accident. Her Dad was killed, her Mom lived but would no longer be able to live alone, her canine companion just had some minor cuts, and poor Ethel had a terrible open wound down her entire spine. Family members took her companion, and her Mom moved in with a relative, but poor Ethel, wounded and mourning her Dad, was taken away to animal control to an uncertain fate for sure! The animal control officer was kind enough to see that Ethel needed to find a place to go and quickly...so rescue was called, and Ethel came to DAAWG! Now safely in foster care, Ethel is healing from her wounds, and learning to open up to her foster Mom. She is fine with the other dogs, as long as they leave her alone (she is afterall, an old timer). She does fine with the cats. It takes Ethel a little bit of time to warm up to new people, shes been through so much...and its going to take her a long time to heal emotionally given her extremely traumatic loss. If you would like to make a donation towards Ethels care, since she will likely be a permanent DAAWG resident, please email us at daawgsinc@yahoo.com or click the paypal link on our homepage!
